Economist Education’s new course on influence and persuasion

Build relationships, influence decisions and motivate action. Influence and persuasion are vital workplace skills—and the subjects of our latest programme

October 22nd 2024

The course will show that, with the right tools, anyone can become more influential at work. It presents insights from the course founder, Steve Martin—a leading behavioural scientist—as well as business leaders such as Sir Martin Sorrell and experts such as Jennifer Lerner, a professor of decision science at Harvard. The focus is on equipping participants to apply what they learn in the real world and become better leaders.

Why enrol?

Influence and persuasion are crucial skills for swaying decisions, encouraging collaboration and building strong working relationships. Whether negotiating over budgets, leading a project or dealing with a difficult colleague, being able to influence others can ensure your ideas are heard—and acted on.

Who is the course for?

This programme will benefit professionals who are looking to enhance their authority and impact at work, and advance in their careers. Participants will be taught a practical, adaptable framework for influence to apply in common business scenarios.

How will you learn?

Videos, podcasts, articles, assignments and discussions with fellow participants will provide a detailed and diverse perspective on influence. Practical exercises will help you use what you learn in workplace situations and gain the skills to be more influential at work.

Influence and persuasion aren’t just skills given to a lucky few at birth. They are skills that any of us can learn. Anyone can get better at influencing others in business, and this course will show you how.

Expert on influence and persuasion; CEO of Influence At Work, author and course founder
