Economist Education launches a virtual masterclass on business writing

Economist Education launched its business-writing course as a six-week, online-only offering in 2021. The programme has helped thousands of participants to ditch corporate jargon and write with verve, crafting sentences that make an impact. After that, we developed an in-person version, which has been well-received by professionals of all stripes. Now, to meet the needs of even more people and companies, we’ve devised a virtual version of the in-person masterclass.

The new iteration combines the convenience of online learning with many of the advantages of in-person sessions, enabling participants to study remotely—wherever they are based—while building rapport with their peers. Lively participation is encouraged throughout. Participants join breakout discussions, vote in live polls and can quiz an expert instructor in real time. They also give each other feedback on their work. At the end of the programme they submit assignments that are graded by a professional writer and educator. 

The writing masterclasses are especially helpful for teams that need to produce high-quality reports, memos and presentations. They can be customised to account for the needs and specific context of your business, and held at times that suit you. The new, virtual format is now available to clients.
